Ginnie and I started this group shortly after we arrived in Phoenix. We work from home so thought it a great way to meet some new people and make some friends. Not because we just wanted to hang out with Brits, but we thought it the easiest place to start in terms of making friends! And thankfully we were right! This is a great bunch of people who love their lives here, but miss some of the little things like the British sense of humour (notice the 'u') and the football talk! We're not all Brits - we have a Dutch lady, a Sri Lankan chap and yes, even some Americans!

We love it here, and most of the people we've met through the group love it here too. This isn't a group where we moan about the US and pine for a return to the UK, but where we enjoy hanging out with some like-minded folks for a few hours a couple of times a month...!

There seems to be a regular core to the group of about 12/15 people, mostly in their 30's/40's but new people of all ages join all the time, although we are yet to meet most of you! Most of the 'regulars' don't have young kids, so often meet-ups will be in the evening at bars/restaurants but we try and do different things every now and then. We've been to the Scottsdale Culinary Festival, a Comedy Club and thinking about going Bowling sometime soon. Most events will be in the East Valley (Chandler/Gilbert/Mesa), but we do try and move around a little. We've also been out to Postinos in Phoenix and had a couple of events in Scottsdale.

There is a minimal annual $5 fee per person, as we have to pay for the convenience of using the meet-up site, so don't be surprised if I ask you for that when we meet!
