Whoever knew finding a park to bbq in would be such a pain!! Most parks charge 80+ dollars to reserve. We didn't reserve and do not want to spend the day camping out just to get guarantee a BBQ space. We were also thinking that the parks we like can get super hot in the afternoon!
We finally came up with a solution to the problem! There is this lovely park in Cupertino. The play areas are nice and cool as they are in-between trees (shaded). There are BBQ facilities, but we thought it might be nice to have a picnic instead. There may be available bbq's but do not count on it.
So, pack a rug, your favorite picnic spread (for you and your family), some beer, and maybe a treat you would like to share. There is a sand play area and large field space for games, so bring sand toys and balls/games to play. If you wish to take a risk, you can bring bbq stuff, but it maybe taken/reserved.
