Time for another different event- we did this last year and had about 40 people turn up so I figured we'd try it again!

This year's free Shakespeare in the Park perfomance is of "Percicles" - not one of Shakespeare's best know performances so here's the synopsis:

"Forced to flee for his life as a young man, Prince Pericles embarks on an epic journey that leads him from a tragic shipwreck to a joyful marriage and from the loss of his beloved daughter to a surprising reunion. Along the way he encounters many memorable characters, from clownish fishermen to dancing suitors to roguish pirates! Ultimately good triumphs over evil, jealousy and vice are punished, and faithfulness and virtue are rewarded"

Here's a link to their website which also has the dates and time of other performances if you can't make this date:

Anyway, it's free and good excuse to sit in the sun and have a picnic! We'll gather at the back on the right

Hope to see you there!

PS Bring blankets to sit on and whatever you'd like to eat and drink!

I saw the first act. I thought it was terrible and left during the intermission. It was hard to hear and understand the dialogue, and the whole play was done in some kind of frontier town American style which simply didn't work for me. To my ear, the accents were - well - accentuated into some almost unrecognisable redneck sound. The overall effect was to bleed off the Shakespeare content.
