Happy new year to you all! Well, it's time to gather and celebrate once more for no particular reason (we've never needed one before so why start now!). It's been a few months since we were last there so I figured we could return to an old favourite location: Gordon Beirsh down in SoMa. As normal, we'll gather at the back to the left of the bar. Hi everyone, Want to see San Francisco Bay from an elevation of 2571 feet? Now is your chance! I thought I would take advantage of the up-coming Martin Luther King Jr. holiday this Monday (15th Jan) and organize a hike up the beautiful Mt Tam in Marin. The hike is just 4.7 miles but we willl climb 1700 feet in elevation taking us right to the top of Mt Tam. Bring sensible shoes (no flip-flops this time, Mr Sutton!), some layered clothing and some water and snacks. I expect it to take about 3-4 hours and we will probably retire to the Inn for a cheeky beer or two afterwards! When:
We will meet from 10.30am in the car-park of the Mountain View Inn on 810 Panoramic Drive, Mill Valley. We will start the hike at 11am sharp so do not be late! How to get there:

Ho Ho Ho! Well, it's time to drink, sing and be merry!.... Hang on! Don't we do that every month? Anyway, let's celebrate the arrival of the proper festive season (No, not Thanksgiving!) Gather all your festive spirit, and mince (pie) along to our early festive gathering! Calendars prohibit meeting much later in December as I know many of us (myself included) are heading back to Blighty for Christmas so we can experience the chill winds, driving rain and partake in that traditional British festive sport: watching old people slip-over on frosty pavements! Hurrah! As it's a special meet-up I thought we'd try a novelty location: a "British" pub (they may even have authentic Chavs fighting each other - How Marvelous!) :The Elephant & Castle in the Financial district with heaps of Reindeer parking near-by! CHANGE OF LOCATION - now O'NEILL'S Irish pub just 2 blocks away!! 21st Amendement didn't have a spare room but O'Neills have kindly given us our own room- just look for the British Flag! I've scheduled this one a bit earlier so we don't clash with the Thanksgiving weekend. We shall have our own little Harvest Festival...and give praise for the bountiful harvest .......of Hops used to make our beer! Unlike the Harvest Festivals we had at school in Blighty, there's no need to bring any food (non-perishable of course!) for distribution in the community. Maybe, if you're feeling particularly generous, demonstrate your philanthropic ways by giving a dollar to one of the dozens of pan-handlers you will meet on route! Hope to see you there and please leave any bails of straw and tractors outside!

The next venue for our Meet-up will be an old favourite: Jonny Foleys near Union Square ...always good fun on a Friday. It's nice and central with tons of garages if you need to park! Hope to see you all there! R

Well done to all those who attended the last Meet-up at the 21st Amendment - it was a great night and a great crowd! Apologies once again for the delay in posting the venue, what with my impending move to Marin, more visitors from Blighty and a hectic work schedule completing this has run away from me somewhat lately! Anyway, excuses over- the next venue for our Meet-up will be an old favourite: Gordon Biershe in SoMa. There?s no ballgame that night so parking will be easy. We?ll try for our normal spot at the back on the left- I?ll even put the flags out! Hope to see you all there! R PS My parents and Grandmother will be there too!

Well done to all those who attended the last Meet-up. Kennedy's was certainly a popular bar and an even more popular restaurant (I think that counts as the first sit-down meal at one of our meet-ups!) For the September meet-up, I'm going to suggest we meet at the 21st Amendment in SoMa - We'll be in the upstairs (mezzanine) level of the bar. It's a great spot near the ball park but the Giants are away that night so parking etc will be easy.
