The next Meet-up will be at an old favourite: Gordon Beirsch! I'll try to reserve a long table and put out a flag! Also, there's no ball game that night so parking will be easy!

I hope to see you all there!

PS Apologies for any slackness on my behalf lately- I'm in England right now enjoying lots of Cricket, football and, believe it or not, SUNSHINE!

Okay, so it's time for the next Non-School Night Meet-up ("Hurrah" I hear you shout!). Following feedback from the last meeting, we'll be returning to Swig (I was going to suggest Gorden Beisch but there's a ball game that night so parking would be terrible!) Anyway, Swig's a great bar, centrally located with good prices and great music.

Remember, as it's the Friday meetup, we're starting slightly earlier at 7.30- as for when we finish: Who knows!!!

Cheers

PS Keep an eye out for photos from yesterday's Summer Party - well done to all those who attended and made it such a fun day - Special thanks to Jules and Jamie for bringing the volleyball kit.

As always, Meetup charges a fee to run this group, but I'm covering that- However, any donations to the "Rob Johnson Drinking fund" - an official charity (at least as far as I'm concerned) on the night are very welcome!

DUE TO PERMIT RESTICTIONS, THE GROUP IS CAPPED TO 50 PEOPLE, PLEASE SEE SEPARATE E/MAIL FOR MORE INFO.

DATE: Sunday 28 May

TIME: 12pm (midday)

LOCATION: Golden Gate Park. Pioneer East Meadow, East of the boathouse at Stow Lake (SEE THE TWO DOCUMENTS IN THE "FILES" SECTION FOR MORE INFO AND EXACT LOCATION)

WHAT TO BRING: Whatever you want to eat and drink! By the way, all pets are welcome (dogs, kids etc)

PARKING: JFK Drive is closed on Sundays so my best advice is to park on or around Fulton St (maybe on one of the Avenues) and walk into the park (it should only take 5 minutes to walk in - SEE THE TWO DOCUMENTS IN THE "FILES" SECTION FOR MORE INFO AND EXACT LOCATION).

GAMES: I would like to arrange games of some kind so please let me know if you'll bring something with you (Somebody mentioned Badminton and rounders???). If anybody has a softball or baseball bat and ball that would be great as we can certainly arrange a big game!

I look forward to hearing from you

Cheers

After the success of the last Friday Meet-up, here are details of the next one. We're choosing another new location recommended by some members. It's a bar called Swig and, as always, is centrally located not far from Union Square (see link below for more information on Swig)

Please see the discussion forum also for an idea for a British Summer picnic!

Cheers

Rob

PS Well done to the 25 or so people who attended last night's Meet-up. Tosca was quieter than the bars we normally attend (despite our presence!) so we'll keep trying new places - I expect to refine the choice to maybe 3-4 good bars that fit this group and then, occasionally, we'll try somewhere new.

Hi everybody,

Last month’s meeting (March’s) was a real success with the highest turnout for the Brit Ex-Pats Meet- up group ever! Well done to all those who made it and welcome also to those who came from the BEER group and helped swell the numbers yet further! (I've added some picture to the website too) Hopefully even more can attend the next event!

Following feedback on the location, I’ve decided to hold the next Meet-up at Tosca in North Beach (on Columbus below Broadway - see the link for a review) as it’s a smaller and less crowded bar. We’ll meet from 8pm – details attached.

I’ve also started a discussion on the website meeting board on whether people would like to have two meetings a month (one on a Thursday- the other on a Friday two weeks later. People can then choose to attend either …or both!) Let me know your thoughts by adding your comments to the group discussion board.

See you there from 8 PM!

By popular demand, I've added an additional Friday meet-up that will run on the second Friday of every month This way we don't have to wait a month between meet-ups and you don't risk falling asleep at the office the next day! (We will retain the regular 4th Thursday of the month meet-up as normal- next one: 27th April at Tosca in North Beach - see invite for more info)

This time I've chosen the Gordon Beirsh Brewery on the Embarcadero- it's a big place so should be easy to find room for all of us. Note the start time is slightly earlier as I know some people may come straight from their offices in downtown (Just like those London days!)

Hope to see you all there!

Hey everyone!

Okay, apparently now I'm the organiser so I'm getting organised! The next meet-up is Thurs 23rd March and will be at Johnny Foley's Irish house at 243 O'Farrell Street, San Francisco. It's a fun place about 2 blocks from Macy's, Union Sq.

Come along and enjoy the night - also as it's an Irish bar you may be able to get a discount on drinks if you wear all green clothing and paint your face.... Just an idea but do let me know how you get on!

See you there from 8 PM

Hi everyone

Seeing as Meetup has introduced a fee to run this group, i'm hoping to recoup some of the fee from those who attend. I'm only going to ask for $1.00 each and i will cover the rest.

Hope everyone understands......i think the monthly fee put alot of people off stepping up to be organiser but i hope this $1.00 contribution doesn't deter people coming to the events.......what's a dollar for a load of fun!??

Cheers

Hey guys

I have changed the venue to the 21st Amendment as there will be a few of us going there for after work/ pre- Christmas drinks anyway. For those who are up for it, we can go on to somewhere else afterwards.......lets go with the flow!

For those who can make it, i look forward to a good drink up before Christmas and for who can't, have a great Christmas and New Year.
